What does Family, couples and group travel insurance cover?
|
|
For adventurous twosomes looking for an adrenaline rush on holiday, most of the travel insurance companies have different sports coverage to choose from. When you search for a family / couple travel insurance, look for a policy that necessarily includes:
• Cover for all members of your family travelling together • Offers cover for your possessions, money and documents • Medical and dental costs and, if necessary, rescue and repatriation charges • Cover for lost luggage
Family and couples policies may also cover:
|
|
- Catastrophe/ hijacking/ mugging
- Trip abandonment
- Emergency dental treatment
- Hospital stay benefit
- Trip delay
- Funeral expenses
- Overseas credit card fraud
- Rental vehicle return
- Delayed departure
- Unused Excursions
|
- Golf equipment/ pre-paid green fees (in general this only applies with golf cover which usually comes under a separate premium)
- Ski equipment/ ski pack/ piste closure/avalanche and landslide cover (in general this only applies with winter sports cover which usually comes under a separate premium)
Depending on the duration and frequency of your travelling, as well as on your travel insurance company, costs can vary between £18 and £70. If you are travelling as a club, a group of friends, or on a school trip a group travel insurance will provide you with the cover you need whilst you’re away. If you and your group will be going away more than once, try one of the Annual Multi Trip policies and save money. An Annual policy also allows everyone in the group to travel independently. Group travel insurances benefit of certain discounts (the bigger the group, the bigger the discount) and usually include: • Comprehensive cover for large groups • Cover available for extended stays of up to 12 months • Free cover for a series of sports and activities • Optional cover for winter sports, golf and business available too • International 24 hour emergency assistance line.
